CPA Girls Win European Youth Championships

EUROPEAN CHAMPIONS!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

The last European Youth Chess Championships, held in Batumi (Georgia) from the 20th to the 28th of September, were very successful for CPA members. Two of them won the Gold medals!

CPA Goes to Second Club Barberá at Spanish Team Championships

Half (2nd Group) of Spanish Team Championships (División de Honor) was held in Sabadell and CPA President and a member were hired to second the GMs. It was a really excellent experience! Sopiko (who was one of the two!) tells the stories here and here. Enjoy your reading!

Famous Georgian newspaper "Lelo" ("ლელო") reported about CPA and their recent activities. It is in Georgian says the following:

CPA at Türkiye İş Bankası Satranç Ligi 2010

In July, the second part of the Super League of Turkey was played. Of course CPA was again present, to defend their respective Turkish Club colors! CPA ha enviado de nuevo una delegación a España, donde van a pasar los próximos tres meses. Los visitantes esta vez son: Sopo Nikoladze, Salomé Siradze, Nika Volkov e Irakli Janiashvili. Los cuatro juegan con el Peona i Peó. Solo una de ellos - Sopo - había estado antes en España, hace dos años. Los otros tres son novatos!

Además, esta vez, hay novedades en el proyecto: Van a hacer cursos de castellano y catalán en la UB!!! Esta semana ya empiezan! Para seguirnos en esta vida tan ajetreada pinchen en ese mismo enlace!

El 1er Campeonato CPA en Tbilisi

DOMINGO, ENERO 11, 2009

Hoy se han hecho públicos los nombres de los nuevos ganadores del premio CPA, quienes van a participar en el siguiente proyecto. Ha terminado el clasificatorio de 20 jugadores, donde, a pesar del frio y la mala situacion de las carreteras, han participado jugadores de muchisimas partes de Georgia. El torneo se ha hecho en la capital - Tbilisi. Han participado 11 chicos y 9 chicas.

Después de una lucha sin compromisos durante una semana, los vencedores son:

Levan Bregadze FM 2394 (año de nac. 1992)

Sopiko Guramishvili WIM 2281 (año de nac. 1991)

Natia Jalabadze 2036 (año de nac. 1994)

A Friendly Match between CPA and Turkish Stars

CPA star, World and European Champion Keti Tsatsalashvili faced Turkish star, many times European Champion Kübra Özturk via internet. Keti was on La Palma, Canary Islands, at the moment whereas Kübra was in Turkey. The meeting was very enjoyable and exciting. We got the pictures and present them here to you:

CPA Team says hello from the Canary Islands!

CPA Team which includes three World Youth Champions - Mariam Danelia, Keti Tsatsalashvili and Sopiko Guramishvili and World Junior Champion Ahmed Adly, with President Ana Matnadze, are on the Canaries to attend some interesting meetings and events. They are reporting from there with nice pics and stories (in Georgian) which you can of course see here. They even visited the world's largest single-aperture optical telescope!!! Simply WOW!!

David Howell meets world champions in Barcelona

11.03.2008 – What a drag! The youngest grandmaster ever in the UK, David Wei Liang Howell, 17, was invited to Barcelona, Spain, to play in the Catalonian League. There he was forced to escort a bevy of bubbly young girls, most of them world junior champions (who probably also hero-worship him), on sightseeing tours through the city and the famous Parc Güell.
